I get many emails with questions about my model girls, so I have decided to take time to introduce you to each one. So far you have gotten acquainted with Stormie and Shimmer, and today you get to meet our newest girl, Breezy.
Breezy (Ch. Diadem Gentle Breeze) is a retired show dog who came to live with us just a few weeks ago when Shawn surprised me for Christmas. I love Liz Moore's dogs, they are not only beautiful to look at, but they have the sweetest temperaments you will ever find. While the three girls all came from the same kennel, they certainly look different, which makes it easier for our friends to tell them apart.
Breezy is, in many ways, an answer to Stormie's prayers. Stormie loves to play with other dogs, but Shimmer just will not play with her. They will curl up in one of the dog beds together, go for walks together, everything except play. It was kind of sad to see Stormie try to coax Shimmer into a good game of tag. But along came Breezy, who has the same fun-loving nature as Stormie, and now we have a continuous game of tag going all over the house. Those two will wrestle with toys, chase each other (and the cat, when he wants to get in on the game), and just gernerally have a grand ol' time until they drop from exhaustion.
Breezy has a very outgoing personality and is always happy to meet new people that come to the house. She willingly sits on people's lap and soaks up the attention. She just oozes happiness. Her tail is always wagging and every new experience is an adventure. When she gets really excited, or is begging for treats, she does this little prairie dog thing where she stands on her hind legs, with her front legs hanging down. We think she either looks like a prairie dog or one of the meerkats from Animal Planet's Meerkat Manor. We are going to try to get some pictures to share with you.
She has taken quickly to the modeling and likes to pose for the camera. I'm sure it's done more for the treats than the celebrity, however. Breezy is quite the chowhound and certainly knows how to beg. She's so cute at it that's it's pretty hard to tell her to stop!
"The Girls", as they are affectionately referred to are such a joy and I love them to pieces. They are my constant companions, accompanying me to work each day as I design more little fashions. They force me to take breaks on a regular basis to take them outside, go for a walk, or just get on the floor and play with them for a bit.
Chihuahuas are the best!
I know this may sound really sad, but she is so cute when she lets out her little whimpers. It's hard not to look at her and say 'awww it's ok!' and pick her up to bring her down stairs to you. She needs to get use to just going down the stairs, cause we know she can lol. She's just cute. And her little whimpers. But my FAVORITE thing is her facial expressions when I rub her back haha, she's like a human and she becomes all limp and her eyes glaze over haha. Love her.
