Getting Our Super Cooper

Yesterday we drove to Spokane and picked up our little boy, Cooper. He already has several nicknames: Super Cooper, Mini Cooper, Super Duper Cooper, and Super Coop, to list just a few of the starter ones.

Liz was happy to see the girls and brought Cooper's mom, Abbie, to see her old friends and to say goodbye to Cooper. The girls were pretty happy to see their 'first mom' again!

Soon it was time to get back on the road to head home. For the first little while Cooper rode in my lap, just looking up at me and being adorable.

Then he decided he wanted to get in the back seat with the girls and get to know them. At first he seemed to like Shimmer the best, I think she reminded him the most of his mom, as they look alot alike.

Then he settled in, deciding that Breezy made a really good pillow for him, and stretched out across her back. Surprisingly, she tolerated him just fine. He could barely keep his little eyes open, but the bumps in the road would startle him and he had a hard time napping.

One time when I turned to check on him, he was actually sitting on top of Breezy. I love the expression on her face. Kind of like she can't quite believe what is going on.

We finally arrived back home and he got to run around the backyard with the girls. He even went potty in the grass for the first time! Yay for the Super Cooper!
He then came inside and met everyone, including Spencer, the 23 pound cat. Didn't faze him one bit. I think he just thought Spencer is a really big Chihuahua. That's okay, I think Spencer thinks the same thing.
We put him and the girls to bed and he settled right into his little crate without a single peep. Slept all the way to 7:00am without letting out a single whimper. He went outside this morning and pottied, ate his breakfast, played with toys, went potty outside again, ate his lunch, took a nap, played with the toys some more, went back outside for some practice on the leash (he does GREAT!), tried on his first tshirt (he looks way too adorable, I have to get some pictures loaded!) and has had a marvelous day so far.
We now need to come up with a new slogan. We have been the Girls of Cody and Company for a long time, but we need a new one.
The crew of Cody and Company?
I don't know, any suggestions..???

Tormorrow is the Day!!

It has taken what has seemed like an eternity, but tomorrow is the day we get Cooper.

We have his crate, complete with his little name plate that we had made at the Rose City Classic dogshow this weekend. I have made him lots of BLUE BOY blankets. Can't have him using pink blankets that say 'Princess' and 'Diva' all over them!

We have a little collar and leash for him to use on the way home. We have toys, food, bowls and even some new clothes!

I ordered the girls' Valentine and St. Patrick's Day collars from Suzanne at Crazy for Collars and she included tiny little bowtie versions for Cooper! I can hardly wait for them to arrive in the mail.

Liz has sent me some more pictures, yes he still has his ears taped up and looks funny, but you have to look past that to see how adorable he is.

He went outside for the first time the other day and got to play in the snow with his litter brother.

We will be starting our road trip very early tomorrow morning. It is a seven hour drive to Spokane, and seven hours back. That makes for a very long day. The girls are going with us so that they don't get lonely all day, and to say hello to Liz.

I am so unsure of how the girls are going to react to him. I think Stormie will enjoy having a puppy to play with. She is always trying to get the other two girls to play with her, so I think she will enjoy that. Not so sure she is going to like having to share me with another dog now though. We will have to wait and see.

Big Announcement!!!

Introducing........ Cooper.

He is coming to live with us and be part of our family one week from today.

He is almost four months old and too adorable for words.

He comes from the same breeder, Liz, of Diadem Chihuahuas, that we got the girls. She was going to keep him to show, but has decided to let me have him instead.

We are all so excited we can hardly stand it.

We will be spending the next few days getting ready for our new baby. Shopping for new puppy stuff from all my favorite shops.

I think he will be a very spoiled little boy.

New Year, New Happenings

It is a new year, and Cody and Company is starting out with a bang.

Our designs are now being featured on three other dog retail websites: Posh Puppy Boutique, Doggie Couture, and Bitch New York. I really enjoy the three women that run these shops and they carry many luxury items. It is an honor to be included in their stores. Please be sure to check them out - there are some great clearance sales going on right now!

We are also working on some exciting new clothing designs for this year, expanding upon our already full list of offerings. Look for fleece jackets, bathrobes, and more coming your way!

We are working with a wonderful woman, Amy, from Pink Clover Designs on Etsy. She already created our new mailing label, featured above. She is now working on expanding that design for me to be used as a new banner for my Etsy shop. She is so talented and creates beautiful address labels and stickers that are so much fun. Be sure to check out her shop and see what she can create for you!

I love what I do. I love that I get to work with so many wonderful people and to meet so many others who love their special little furkids. I am grateful for the support that Shawn and my family give to me. They pitch in and help with housework and cooking when I am swamped with big orders.

I am very blessed.

Chihuahua vs. Golden Retriever...Breezy's Point of View

Okay, folks, this is Breezy speaking. Mom is out in the yard doing the pooper scooping and said it was too cold for us to go out with her. It's a stinky job anyway, does she REALLY think we WANT to be out there with her..????

Anyway, I have commandeered the computer to tell you a story that will prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Chihuahuas are smarter than Golden Retrievers.

Friday evening, Bonnie's Dad comes home from work. It is his first payday on his new job. Mom, Dad, Christopher and P.J. decide to go out to dinner to celebrate. We are snuggled nicely in our crates, and stay out of trouble.

Bonnie, not so much. She stays down in the family room, with the paycheck left on the couch.
You know where I am going with this, don't you??

Yep, she ATE THE PAYCHECK! All but a little corner of it.

I'm not sure why she likes to shred and eat paper, but this isn't the first time she has eaten something important.
So, I ask you, would a Chihuahua do that??? I don't think so.
Score so far:

Golden Retriever: Big Fat ZERO!!!!

Chihuahua: So many points, it's off the chart. After all, I HAVE figured out how to type up a blog. Even used Spellchecker.

So, Christopher has to ask his boss for a replacement check.

Mom is mumbling something about automatic deposit. Not sure what that is....but I am getting the hang of this computer pretty good....where is that Google button..???

Who Wants to Save Some Money..??

I love to find bargains. Now mind you, I do not like to shop. I don't know what the deal is, but I seemed to have missed getting that female gene. However, I do love to save money and find bargains, so it does require me to do some shopping to accomplish this.

But, bless the Internet, there are ways to shop without having to go out and fight the crowds.

Of course, the most reasonable place to find clothing for your sweet little pup is at my store HERE. However, I am going to tell you about a couple other real bargain places!

First is Barking Deals: Pet Deal of the Day. This place is fantastic. They feature a new item almost everyday that is between 50%-70% off regular price and they even have FREE shipping! You can sign up for daily emails and they will let you know what the deal for the day is and you don't have to remember to go look. Just before Christmas they had Large King Wubbas for $4.99. This is at least half the price I have ever seen them in stores. With the free shipping they were a bargain I couldn't pass up. These are a favorite toy of both Bonnie and Carson, so I ordered three. There was no place to specify color, but this is what I received:

Today's deal is CalmEars™ with Aloe Vera (8 fl. oz.) for $4.99. I don't always need (okay, sometimes it is just a want) what they are selling each day, but I do love the bargains.

Another fun place is Kyjen. This company makes all sorts of dog toys, with the emphasis on durability and FUN. The really fun thing about this site, is up in the right hand corner is a spot where you can sign up to be a toy tester. You fill out a small questionnaire about your pets and at various times you will be chosen as a tester for some toys. They send them to you for free, you play with them with your dog and report back to the company. Easy.

When in the bargain hunting arena, be sure to register on the PetSmart website, which will allow you to access extra coupon deals that you can print out and take to the store or use online.

In these tough economic times, it is great to have ways to save money so that we can spoil our pups more, right?

After all, according to Stormie, a dog can never have too much spoiling...

Baby, It's Cold Outside

As with most of the country, we have been experiencing some bitterly cold weather. We have been spared the huge snow storms, thank heavens, as the girls HATE snow. But, the temperature has stayed below freezing for nearly a week now.

I have had the girls dressed in warm sweaters, but we really wanted to model these fun little tshirt hoodies that I picked up in the bargain bin at Target a couple months ago. While they express every one's opinion very well, since they are light weight tshirt material, they are not really the proper attire to go out for potty breaks in. But, they have been fun to wear around the house and everyone reads the shirts and agrees whole heartedly that it is time for the weather to warm up a bit.
I think it might be working girls....it's a balmy 38 degrees today!

Anyone Getting Married?

I am not planning any weddings in the near future, but if you or someone you know is planning one, then you know that the design ideas for cake toppers is endless. Gone are the days of the regulation generic bride and groom figures atop a basic cake. The cakes today are as individual as the people getting married and the ideas for cake toppers is endless.

If you know someone who is getting married and their little dogs share their lives, here is the perfect cake topper! Is this too adorable or what? Can you just imagine all the possibilities?
This custom cake topper is made from polymer clay. The designer will customize it to match your bride and groom, as well as pets. They are available at Mara's Little People, a shop on Etsy. You really need to visit and look at some of her creations. The details are exquisite and each is an original piece, not cast from a mold.
I think they are adorable and just wanted to share. If you know of someone who is getting married and who would love this idea, pass it on!
